The Ohio State softball team (19-19, 7-5 Big Ten) rolled to a 12-4 win in five innings over visiting Dayton (18-15, 8-7 Atlantic Ten) in a non-conference game at Buckeye Field Wednesday. The Buckeyes hit four home runs, including two from Taylor Cruse.
Cruse paced the offense with three hits, four runs batted in, and three runs scored. Hadley Parisien and Lottie Landmesser added homers for OSU. Sami Bewick, Kiki Estrada, and Izzy Neal each had two hits for the Buckeyes.
Lorin Boutte went 3.1 innings for Ohio State and picked up her second win of the season. The save went to Kennedy Kay, her first, as she tossed 1.2 scoreless innings to finish the ballgame.
On the Dayton side, shortstop Kirnan Bailey, a Gahanna alum, had two hits, an RBI, and a run scored to lead the Flyers.
The Buckeyes, who have now won nine of their last ten games, are back in action this weekend with three games at Carol Hutchins Stadium in Ann Arbor against the Michigan Wolverines (24-24, 4-8 Big Ten).
