OSU women tracksters finish 3rd
The Ohio State women’s track team finished third in the Big Ten meet this past weekend in Ann Arbor, Mich. Leah Bertrand defended her 100m title, while Fatouma Conde won the 200m. The 4x100m relay team, including Bertrand and Conde, also finished first.
Clippers rally for win in Iowa
The Columbus Clippers scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning in Iowa Sunday and held on for a 9-6 win. Juan Brito and José Tena each hit three-run homers for the Clippers, who return to Huntington Park Tuesday to begin a series with Louisville.
Fury finish season with loss
The Columbus Fury ended its inaugural season falling to the San Diego Mojo 3-1 Saturday at Nationwide Arena. Reagan Cooper led the Fury with 22 kills and eight blocks. Columbus finished outside the PVF’s top four and will not be in the playoffs.
Denison captures NCAC title
After falling to Wittenberg Friday, the Denison baseball team had to beat the Tigers twice Sunday at Chillicothe’s V.A. Memorial Stadium to win the NCAC tournament championship. The Big Red did just that with dominant 9-3 and 17-7 victories.
