Coach Chris Sauter wore the look of disappointment on his face after his Watterson boys lacrosse team’s bid for a repeat Division II championship fell short in the final seconds. Aubrey Allen was awfully jovial for someone that got hit in the head. But not nearly as happy as she was when she crossed home plate later in the inning. Allen scored what turned out to be the winning run in the seventh inning for the Hilliard Bradley softball team in a 7-5 win over Lancaster in the Division I state final. [More]

Coach Charlie Duncan’s feeling that his Danville softball team might be “special” came to fruition at Firestone Stadium in Akron on June 4.
