About Us

CBUSsports.com signals a new era of sports journalism and webcasting in Central Ohio. Its primary focus will be the stories of local athletes, coaches, and teams, especially those who generally go unrecognized because of the sports they play or where they play them.

CBUSsports.com is a division of Shearwater Media Group LLC, a company founded by Kevin Rouch, a Columbus attorney, who has also been a sports broadcaster for more than 30 years. Originally from Zanesville, Ohio, Rouch first worked for WHIZ-TV and Radio in his hometown as a play-by-play announcer. He has also taught Sports Law at Columbus State Community College where he received an Adjunct Instructor of the Year award.

Rouch was the radio voice of the Zanesville Greys and Chillicothe Paints of the Frontier League, an independent professional baseball circuit. He received broadcaster of the year honors in the League and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2021. In addition, he has umpired at the professional, college, and high school levels.

Rouch and his family live in Grandview Heights. He and his wife, Carol, have four grown children, all of whom played sports for the Bobcats of Grandview Heights High School. Rouch created websites for several GHHS sports, served as president of the football and baseball booster groups, and webcast Bobcat football, basketball, soccer, baseball, wrestling, and volleyball. For his work, he received the Bobcat Award from the Grandview Heights City School District.

With a talented team of writers, photographers, videographers, announcers, producers, and crew, CBUSsports.com is poised to tell compelling sports stories from around the Central Ohio area.
