In the Columbus Clippers’ first two home games of the season, they did not score a run for 16 innings of play against the St. Paul Saints. On Wednesday, they finally pushed two runs across in the eighth inning, but that was all they needed as their pitching staff shut the Saints out for a 2-0 victory.

The No. 17-ranked Ohio State men’s volleyball team began their final homestand of the season with a 3-2 win over No. 10 McKendree Thursday.
Fury
The Columbus Fury have lost seven of their last eight matches. The latest defeat came Sunday in Atlanta when the Vibe swept the Fury, giving them their fourth straight loss.
Buckeyes
The Ohio State baseball team had two early leads at Bill Davis Stadium against West Virginia, but the Mountaineers went on to win, 9-6.
Colleges
The Ohio Dominican baseball team rallied twice in its game with visiting Cedarville Wednesday to win 11-6 in G-MAC play. The teams will play three games this weekend.
Blue Jackets
The Columbus Blue Jackets announced this week that they have signed three players to entry level contracts, including Northeastern University center Jack Williams.
