The Columbus Academy girls golf team won their third straight OHSAA Division II golf state championship Monday at Firestone Golf Club in Akron. They were led by sophomore Eva Lim, who shot 72-71 to win the individual title by four shots. Lim’s teammate, senior Caroline Zeiger, finished in a tie for eighth.
In girls Division I play, Dublin Jerome and New Albany were second and third, respectively, in the team championship behind Magnificat. Olentangy junior Meadow Tian was the area’s top individual, finishing in a tie for second behind medalist Eva Becerril, a junior at Sycamore. Jerome senior Ellen Ryu tied for eighth.

Thomas Worthington senior Jack Flores shot 71-74 to place in a tie for third in the Division I boys championship at NCR Country Club. Senior Chris Pollack of Hoban received medalist honors. Seniors Zach Radtke, from Jerome, and Bric Baird, from Upper Arlington, finished in a tie for sixth. In team play, Olentangy Liberty placed second behind Hoban. Jerome was fourth and Thomas Worthington was sixth.
In boys Division II at Firestone, Columbus Academy finished in sixth place in team competition. Kettering Alter won the team title. The top area finisher was senior Alex Stein of Academy, who placed in a tie for 14th. Sophomore Matthew Kreusch of Kettering Alter and senior Finley Bartlett of Wyoming finished in a tie for first.
Only one local team finished in the top ten at the Division III boys championship at NorthStar Golf Club in Sunbury, Newark Catholic in the fourth spot. Green Wave senior Brogan Sullivan was the top CBUS-area individual golfer. He finished in a tie for fourth. The medalist was Valley senior Cameron Phillips.
