The Ohio State men’s lacrosse team (9-1, 1-0) began Big Ten play Sunday with a road game at Penn State (6-2, 0-1). The Nittany Lions were ranked No. 2 nationally coming into the contest, while the Buckeyes were No. 9. After playing the first half to a 5-5 tie, OSU took a lead in the third quarter and went on to win 13-9.
Five different Buckeyes scored two goals: Ben Mayer, Garrett Haas, Alex Marinier, Shane O’Leary, and Ryan Donnery. Jack McKenna led the Bucks with three assists. Ohio State goalkeeper Caleb Fyock made 17 saves on the evening and is now 9-0. He has an impressive .628 save percentage for the season.
The Buckeyes play another Big Ten contest next Saturday when Rutgers comes to Columbus. The action gets underway at 1:00 p.m.
