The Ohio State women’s golf team spent the weekend at the Clemson Invitational, which was played at the Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset, S.C., and not only won the tournament by 10 shots, but set a school record for a 54-hole performance.
The #24-ranked Buckeyes finished at 819 for the three days (-45), 10 strokes ahead of #2 Arkansas. Their third-round score of 272 (-16) tied the 18-hole scoring record that they had set the day before.
The five OSU golfers competing as a team – Kary Hollenbaugh (-16), Marina Joyce Marino (-11), Nellie Ong (-6), Mandy Song (-5), and Faith Choi (-2) – finished under par and, collectively, posted 10 rounds in the 60s.
Hollenbaugh, who is the #28-ranked amateur in the world and a New Albany High School alum, was the tournament medalist. It was her third tournament win this season. She was also the atop the leaderboard at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge and the Spartan Suncoast Invitational.
The Buckeyes finish up their regular season on April 12 and 13 when they host the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational at the OSU Scarlet Course..
