The Columbus Fury snapped a four-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the Indy Ignite Saturday at Nationwide Arena. In the process, the Fury set a franchise record with 16 blocks in the match. Abby Walker and Kaylee Cox each had four blocks to lead the team.
Columbus won the first two sets – 25-21 and 25-20 – to take a commanding lead in front of the home crowd. The Ignite rallied for a 25-21 third set win, but the Fury closed things out in the fourth set, coming from behind to win 25-23.
Megan Lush and Izabella Rapacz each had 13 kills in the victory. Setter Nootsara Tomkom had a game-high 43 assists, while libero Paula Cerame led all players with 23 digs. Cox added 10 kills for Columbus.
The Fury head to Las Vegas for a match against the Thrill next Sunday at Lee’s Family Forum. All of the action can be seen on FS2 beginning at 7:00 p.m.
