The Ohio State men’s volleyball team (17-10, 11-5) beat the Lindenwood Lions (10-15, 7-9) in four sets Saturday at the Covelli Center to move on to the MIVA semifinals Wednesday at McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois.
The Buckeyes won the first two sets – 25-15 and 25-23 – before Lindenwood rebounded with a 26-24 third set victory. OSU closed the match out, taking the fourth set 25-14.
Junior Shane Wetzel recorded his 1,000th kill for Ohio State during the match. He recorded a game-high 16 kills and 11 digs. Senior Kyle Teune and freshman Stanislaw Chacinski added 11 kills each. Freshman Daniel Henwood Rodriguez led the Buckeyes with 42 assists.
The Buckeyes play McKendree Wednesday at the Melvin Price Convention Center starting at 8:00 p.m. The Bearcats (20-7, 13-3) defeated Purdue Fort Wayne 3-0 Saturday to advance to the semifinals.
