The Ohio State women’s soccer team (4-1-1) beat the Kentucky Wildcats, 2-0, Sunday in Lexington. The Buckeyes got both goals from junior Amanda Schlueter, their only player who is from the Blue Grass State.
Schlueter’s first score came unassisted in the 4th minute. It wasn’t until the 82nd minute that she connected on her second, this time assisted by sophomore Jacinda Bonham, her first helper of the season. Schleuter now has a team-leading five goals, to go along with two assists, in six games.
Senior Molly Pritchard earned the win in goal for the Buckeyes. She stopped four Wildcat shots and posted her second shutout of the season. The Buckeyes have now won four matches in a row.
The Michigan Wolverines (2-4) come to town Friday in the first Big Ten matchup for both teams. Michigan topped Youngtown State Sunday, 2-0, after falling in their previous four outings. Friday’s match kicks off at 7:00 p.m at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
