After three gut-wrenching, one-goal losses, the #12-ranked Ohio State field hockey team (3-3) ended the brief slide with a 2-0 win over the Northeastern Huskies (3-2) Sunday at Dedham Field in the Boston area.
The Buckeyes got a goal from Makenna Webster in the second quarter with an assist to Lindsey Roberts. OSU added to its lead in the third quarter when Webster found Emily Barker for her first goal of the season. Webster leads Ohio State with 11 goals and three assists.
Goalkeeper Maddie Stevens made two saves on the afternoon for the Buckeyes. She now has two shutouts this season.
Ohio State remains on the road for their next match, heading to Louisville to take on the Cardinals Friday. Louisville (3-2) has a match with the Iowa Hawkeyes Sunday.
