After getting their first Big Ten win in overtime against #11-ranked Maryland Friday, the Ohio State women’s field hockey team (6-5, 2-1) hosted the Penn State Nittany Lions (5-6, 1-3) Sunday at Buckeye Varsity Field. Goals from Loryn Jordon and Makenna Webster and excellent team defense led to a 2-0 win.

Like Friday’s contest with the Terrapins, neither team scored in the first half Sunday. Jordon put the Buckeyes on the board just 1:31 into the third quarter. It was her third goal of the season. Webster added a score at the beginning of the fourth period, her team-leading 16th, to seal the win.

Goalkeeper Maddie Stevens made a save on the only shot that came her way to earn her fourth clean sheet of the campaign. Stevens is allowing just 1.21 goals a game in her 11 starts this season.

Ohio State welcomes the Michigan Wolverines (8-3, 3-1) to Columbus next Sunday for a Big Ten tilt beginning at 1:00 p.m. The game can be seen on the Big Ten+ network. The Wolverines topped Rutgers, 2-1, in Ann Arbor Sunday.
