The #2-ranked Ohio State women’s hockey team (25-3-0, 19-3-0 WCHA) hosted the #9 Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs (13-12-3, 9-10-3 WCHA) at the OSU Ice Rink Friday and Saturday and came away with two conference wins.
The Buckeyes won Friday’s tilt 6-2 with junior Jocelyn Amos recording a hat trick. Amos is now second on the team with 16 goals this season, trailing only junior Joy Dunne (25). OSU also got tallies from senior Sloane Matthews, junior Jordan Baxter, and freshman Kassidy Carmichael.
On Saturday, Ohio State scored a goal in each period to beat the Bulldogs 3-1. Amos and Baxter scored for the second straight game with junior Kaia Malachino adding a power play goal.
Senior Hailey MacLeod earned the win in Friday’s contest with a career-high 32 saves. She turned around and picked up another win Saturday, her 15th of the season, again stopping 32 shots.
The Buckeyes travel to Madison next weekend to take on #1-ranked Wisconsin (24-2-2, 18-2-2 WCHA). The Badgers split a two-game set at #3 Minnesota this weekend. Wisconsin handed Ohio State two of their three losses in Columbus in early December.
The games at La Bahn Arena next weekend are set for 4:00 p.m. EST Friday (Big Ten+) and 3:00 p.m. EST Saturday (Big Ten Network).
