The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team (8-5, 1-5) had a tough task Thursday when the #5-ranked Johns Hopkins Blue Jays 10-3, 4-1) came to Columbus for a Big Ten matchup. The Buckeyes kept things close through three quarters, but a big fourth propelled the Jays to a 16-6 victory.
Johns Hopkins were led by junior Ava Angello who recorded a career-high eight goals and 11 points. Angello was the Blue Jays’ leading scorer last season. Sophomore Taylor Hoss added three goals and three assists for JHU.

The Blue Jays scored two goals in the first two minutes of play. Ohio State responded with two goals, but Johns Hopkins scored three straight to end the first quarter with a 5-2 lead. JHU was up 7-3 at the half and 8-5 after three quarters.
The Blue Jays dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring Ohio State 8-1 to win the game 16-6. The Buckeyes were led by junior Zoe Coleman, a Bishop Watterson alum, with two goals. Grad Leah Sax had two assists for OSU.
Ohio State will play the Maryland Terrapins (9-4, 4-1) in College Park Sunday. The action gets underway at 1:00 p.m.
