The Columbus Blue Jackets began their four-day development camp Monday at the OhioHealth Ice Haus, which is connected to Nationwide Arena. Thirty-four players are in attendance, including the club’s top picks from the last three NHL Drafts – forward Cayden Lindstrom (2024), defenseman Jackson Smith (2025), and forward Oscar Hemming (2026).

All six of the Blue Jackets’ selections from last week’s NHL Draft, including Hemming (1st round, 14th overall), were on the ice Monday – forward Allesandro Di Iorio (3rd, 94), forward Evan Jardine (4th, 121), goalie Parker Snell (5th, 142), forward Anttoni Uronen (6th, 182), defenseman Jonas Woo (6th, 185), and forward Filip Novak (7th, 206).

Jardine was already in Columbus as he prepares for his freshman year at Ohio State. A native of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., he played for Youngstown in the USHL, a junior league, last season. Also in camp and headed to OSU is Vladimir Provorov, the younger brother of Columbus defenseman Ivan Provorov. Originally from Yaroslavl, Russia, Vladimir played last season for Sudbury in the OHL, another junior league.

The camp, which is open to the public runs through Thursday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the players, divided into two groups, take the ice for drills with the Blue Jackets’ development staff. Both days get started at 9:40 a.m. at the Ice Haus. On Thursday, there will be a Prospects Game beginning at 9:30 a.m.
