The Ohio State baseball team (6-15, 0-6) traveled to Iowa City for a three-game weekend series against the Hawkeyes (14-8, 7-2) and were unable to come away with a win. Buckeyes lost 12-0 in seven innings Friday, 12-5 Saturday, and 18-2 in seven innings Sunday at Duane Banks Field.
Dublin Jerome grad Ryan Miller, a transfer from Tennessee, hit two home runs in the series, while Mason Eckelman added a solo shot in Friday’s game. Two relievers threw well for OSU. Drew Erdmann, a transfer from Cincinnati, went the final 3.2 innings Saturday and did not allow a run, while Charlie Giese tossed 1.1 shutout innings Friday.
The Buckeyes will look for their first Big 10 win when the Oregon Ducks (19-5, 7-2) come to Bill Davis Stadium this upcoming weekend for a three-game series. There will be games on Friday (6:00 p.m.), Saturday (3:00 p.m.), and Sunday (noon).
