Buckeye women's basketball rolls in West Lafayette

Coming off a home loss to the #4-ranked UCLA Bruins, the #19 Ohio State women’s basketball team (12-2, 2-1) traveled to West Lafayette, Ind. for a Big Ten game Wednesday with the Purdue Boilermakers (8-6, 0-3). The Buckeyes dominated the contest, coming away with an 83-56 win.

Ohio State was led in the victory by four players in double figures – Kennedy Cambridge (16), Chance Gray and Jaloni Cambridge (14), and Ava Watson (13). Kylee Kitts paced the Buckeyes with 10 rebounds, while Jaloni Cambridge recorded seven assists.

The OSU defense made it difficult for the Boilermakers to get good shots. Purdue was 16-53 from the field (30.2%) and 4-22 from outside the arc (18.2%). The home team edged the Buckeyes by one rebound, 40-39, but committed 24 turnovers.

Ohio State returns home for a conference game Sunday with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (8-5, 0-2). Tip-off at Value City Arena is 2:00 p.m. All of the action can be seen on the Big Ten Network.
