The #14-ranked Ohio State women’s basketball team (16-2, 6-1 Big Ten) returned to the Schottenstein Center Wednesday to host the Penn State Nittany Lions (7-11, 0-7 Big Ten) in a conference matchup. The Buckeyes raced out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back in a 108-84 home win.
Ohio State had three players with at least 21 points, led once again by Jaloni Cambridge, who scored 33. Chance Gray added 23 points with seven three-pointers and Elsa Lemmilä had 21. All in all, the Buckeyes made 17 shots from behind the arc, matching a team record.
Kylee Kitts paced OSU with six rebounds, while Kennedy Cambridge led the Buckeyes with eight assists and four steals. With her performance Wednesday, Jaloni Cambridge is now averaging 21.2 points/game. That puts her third in the Big Ten behind only Indiana’s Shay Ciezki (23.2) and Northwestern’s Grace Sullivan (22.4).
The Buckeyes are back in action Monday when they travel to the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. to play #10-ranked TCU (17-1, 5-1 Big 12) in the Coretta Scott King Classic. Tip-off is set for noon EST. All of the action can be seen on Fox.
