Buckeyes dominate 2nd half for win at #8 Maryland

The #19-ranked Ohio State women’s basketball team (15-2, 5-1 Big Ten) took on the #8 Maryland Terrapins (16-2, 4-2 Big Ten) in a key conference battle in College Park Sunday and came away with a convincing 89-76 road victory.

The Buckeyes shot 50% (34-68) from the field and an identical 50% (11-22) from behind the arc. Despite that output, OSU trailed by as many as 15 in the first half and did not lead until there was 7:17 left in the third quarter. The Bucks were up 61-59 at the end of that frame and did not relinquish the lead after that.

After recording 41 points against Illinois Wednesday, Ohio State’s Jaloni Cambridge scored a game-high 28 points. She also tallied nine rebounds and eight assists. Kylee Kitts had 18 for the Buckeyes, while Kennedy Cambridge added 14 points and Chance Gray had 11. Elsa Lemmilä also grabbed nine rebounds.

Ohio State returns to the Schottenstein Center Wednesday for a matchup with the Penn State Nittany Lions (7-10, 0-6 Big Ten). Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m. All of the action can be seen on Big Ten+.
