The Buckeyes then reeled off three straight goals, from Emma Peschel, Dunne, and Jungåker, to take a commanding lead. Cornell added a third period score, but Ohio State held on for the 5-3 win.
On Saturday, both teams scored twice in the opening period. Jocelyn Davis and Hilda Svensson posted goals for the Bucks. It was the first score for freshman Svensson.
The Buckeyes’ six second-period goals came from Sara Swiderski, Cassidy Carmichael, Jordan Petrie, Maxine Cimoroni, Sloan Matthews, and another from Svensson. Carmichael and Cimoroni, both freshmen, recorded their first goals.
