The #3-ranked Ohio State women’s hockey team (13-1-0, 11-1-0) was back on the road this weekend with two WCHA games at #5 Minnesota Duluth (10-6-0, 6-6-0). The Buckeyes won both, 3-1 on Friday and 4-1 on Saturday.

Joy Dunne paced the Bucks Friday with two goals and added another in Saturday’s win. The junior from O’Fallon, Mo. leads Ohio State with 16 goals and is second with 24 points this season. She led the Buckeyes in goals (29) and assists (33) last season.

On Friday, the Buckeyes scored a goal in each period to grab the victory. In addition to Dunne’s two scores, Maxine Cimoroni recorded a goal, her fourth of the campaign. In Saturday’s game, Brooke Disher (2), Sanni Vanhanen (7), and Jordyn Petrie (3) added scores, with Dunne posting two assists.

Ohio State remains in first place in the WCHA, just ahead of Wisconsin (14-1-1, 10-1-1). The Buckeyes put their eight-game winning streak on the line next weekend, playing in the “D1 in DC” tourney in the nation’s capital.

The Buckeyes play the ECAC’s Clarkson Golden Knights (9-5-1, 5-2-1) Friday at 4:00 p.m. On Saturday, they play the Colgate Raiders (8-7-1, 4-3-1), also members of the ECAC, at 5:00 p.m. Both games will take place at MedStar Capitals IcePlex.
