After falling twice to UCLA in Los Angeles this past weekend, the Ohio State softball team (31-9-1) returned to play in the Eastern Time Zone, winning at the University of Pittsburgh (13-24) in an abbreviated five-inning game, 12-2.

The Buckeyes continued to pad their record-setting season with three more home runs. Sophomore Jasmyn Burns hit two long balls and drove in seven runs. Burns now leads Ohio State with 19 home runs and 62 RBIs. Sophomore Emma Tolley added her first homer of the season.

Kennedy Kay (9-2) picked up the win, going three innings and giving up just one run on three hits. Layna Gerhard went the final inning of the game and allowed a run on two hits. Neither OSU pitcher recorded a strikeout or a walk in the game.

The Buckeyes remain in the Keystone State for a Big Ten series with Penn State (19-18) this upcoming weekend. The teams will play single games on Friday (5:00 p.m.), Saturday (2:00 p.m.), and Sunday (noon).
