The Columbus Clippers came into the top of the ninth inning at Toledo Friday trailing 3-2. Cooper Ingle walked to lead off the frame, followed by a bunt single from Dayan Frias. Travis Bazzana then laid down a sacrifice bunt to move both runners into scoring position. Pinch-hitter Kahlil Watson knocked a 2-1 pitch into left field to plate the two baserunners for a 4-3 lead.

Columbus reliever Franco Aleman retired all three Mud Hen batters he faced in the bottom of the ninth to earn his fourth save of the season. The win went to Parker Mushinski (4-4), who recorded the final out of the seventh inning with a bases loaded strikeout, then tossed a perfect eighth.

The Clippers posted six hits on the evening. Their two extra-base hits were a Jhonkensy Noel home run, his 11th of the season, and Bazzana’s first Triple-A triple. Christian Cairo also added an RBI with a sacrifice fly in the third inning. Jack Leftwich aided the Columbus cause coming out of the bullpen and throwing three shutout innings beginning with the third inning.

The teams play the series finale Sunday at Fifth Third Field beginning at 2:05 p.m. Randy Dobnak (1-7, 6.72) will take the hill for Toledo with the Columbus starter yet to be announced.
