The Columbus Clippers’ players and coaches returned to Central Ohio Tuesday for a workout at Huntington Park. It was a chance for the media to catch up with the team and for season ticket holders to get a preview of the upcoming season.

Manager Andy Tracy, who returns for his fifth season, led the Clips on the field Tuesday and got to see a number of his hitters in the batting cage in the chilly temperatures with a few raindrops of and on during the session.

Also at the workout today was the Clippers’ new president and general manager, Tyler Parsons. Parsons comes to Columbus after a stint as the general manager for the Triple-A Durham Bulls. A native a Lansing, Mich., Parsons made the move, among other reasons, to be closer to family.

Ken Schnacke, the long-time president and general manager of the club, is now president emeritus. He still kept a close eye on the proceedings Tuesday. He plans to keep his hands in things for the next two years, which will give him 50 years of leadership service with the club.

This year is a bit different than years past. Usually the Clippers start their season after their parent club, the Cleveland Guardians, but now Columbus is first, so the Clips’ lineup may not be settled right away. They head to Toledo for three games beginning Friday, before returning home Tuesday to host the St. Paul Saints in a six-game series.

And Tuesday will be the first, you guessed it, Tansky Tuesday Dime-a-Dog night at the ballpark. If fans can’t make it to a game this season, they can watch the action online at Bally Sports Live or MiLB.TV. They can also listen to Ryan Mitchell’s call on Fox Sports 920 AM.
