The Columbus Clippers had a great series last week against the Toledo Mud Hens. They won five out of six games, averaging more than seven runs a contest. Cooper Ingle was named player of the week in the International League with a .520 average and .960 slugging average for the period on 13 hits, three home runs, and 10 runs batted in.

The Clippers took to the road Monday, traveling to upstate New York to take on the Syracuse Mets. In the series opener Tuesday, the Columbus offense picked up where it left off. The Clips sent 16 batters to the plate in the first inning, scoring 11 runs. They hit three home runs in the frame, with Angel Genao. Ralphy Velazquez, and George Valera all going deep. Genao added another in the fourth inning.

Columbus went on to win 15-7, collecting 16 base knocks and eight walks. Kahlil Watson reached base six times, with four hits, a walk, and an HBP. Velazquez posted three hits, adding two singles to his home run. Ingle moved his average up to .328, second best in the International League, going 2-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs scored.
