The Columbus Crew have acquired up to $750,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) via trade with Houston Dynamo FC in exchange for forward Ibrahim Aliyu.
The Crew will receive a guaranteed $250,000 in 2026 GAM and a conditional $500,000 in GAM if certain performance-based incentives are met. The Black & Gold will retain a percentage of any future transfer fees for Aliyu.
Columbus acquired Aliyu in a cash-for-player trade from Houston in April last year in exchange for $450,000 and up to $750,000 in conditional performance-based incentives.
The 23-year-old Nigerian striker occupied a U-22 Initiative roster slot and was under contract through 2025 with options for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
Aliyu Ibrahim joined Houston originally in April of 2023 after three years with NK Lokomotiva Zagreb in the Croatian first division. He made his debut at 18-years-old on Oct. 2, 2020 with Lokomotiva.
