The Denison men’s basketball team (7-4, 2-0) traveled to Delaware’s Branch Rickey Arena Wednesday for an NCAC game with Ohio Wesleyan (3-8, 0-3). The Big Red trailed by two points at halftime, but rallied for a 65-60 win over the Battling Bishops.
Denison had three players in double figures – Kellon Smith (16), Upper Arlington grad Nick Heath (13), and Luke Salkowski (11). Salkowski added 13 rebounds for a double-double. He also paced the Big Red with four assists.
Ohio Wesleyan’s Peyton Fry, a Hilliard Davidson alum, led all scorers with 18 points on the afternoon. Fry and Logan Elm’s Isaac Ward grabbed four rebounds each for the Bishops, while Fry recorded four assists.
Denison returns home for a Saturday conference game, beginning at 3:00 p.m., with the Kenyon Owls (7-4, 1-1), while Ohio Wesleyan remains at home for a Saturday contest against the Oberlin Yeomen (7-5, 0-3), which also tips off at 3:00 p.m.
