Denison 21, Ohio Wesleyan 14
In an NCAC battle between two CBUS-area teams, the Denison Big Red (3-1, 3-0 NCAC) hosted the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops (1-3, 0-3 NCAC) in Granville and came away with a hard-fought 21-14 win. After a scoreless opening quarter, OWU got on the board first, but the Big Red scored three straight touchdowns en route to the victory. Two local products led their respective squads in rushing: Logan Elm’s Reid Blayton for Denison (71yds) and Franklin Hts alum Gio Rufus for the Bishops (63yds).

Ohio Dominican 27, Lake Erie 19
The Ohio Dominican Panthers (2-2, 1-1 G-MAC) were in Painesville, Ohio for a G-MAC matchup with the Lake Erie Storm (2-2, 0-2 G-MAC) Saturday. The Panthers scored the first two touchdowns only to see Lake Erie “storm” back to take a 13-12 lead in the 3rd quarter. ODU then took control and won 27-19. Panther running back Nathan Webster led the way with 126 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries. Linebacker Gabe Pence, an Olentangy Liberty alum, paced ODU with 12 tackles.

Baldwin Wallace 49, Capital 10
The Capital Comets (2-2, 1-2 OAC) traveled to Berea, Ohio to take on the undefeated Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets (3-0, 1-0 OAC). The Yellow Jackets had a 14-10 lead with 5:05 left in the second quarter, then scored five unanswered touchdowns to win 49-14. Comet quarterback Tyler Love, a Teays Valley grad, threw for 250 yards and a score. Capital’s Preston Hannika caught 10 passes for 217 yards and a TD. Eastmoor’s Diamonte Sally had two pass breakups and a forced fumble for the Comets. 

Marietta 42, Otterbein 7
The Otterbein Cardinals (1-3, 1-2 OAC) welcomed the Marietta Pioneers (3-1, 2-1 OAC) to Memorial Stadium in Westerville Saturday. The Pioneers scored the first 25 points and never looked back for a 42-7 victory. Hilliard Bradley alum Daniel Shaffer had three catches for 55 yards to lead the Cardinals. Linebacker Eli Helton, a Big Walnut grad, had 10 tackles, including a tackle for loss, to pace Otterbein. North Union’s Cayden Lassiter had 10 stops for the Cardinal defense.
