The Columbus Fury (7-15) beat the Vegas Thrill (8-14) for the third time this season, sweeping the match Sunday afternoon – 25-20, 25-23, and 25-21 – at Lee’s Family Forum in Las Vegas. The Fury are in last place in the PVF but just one game behind both Vegas and the San Diego Mojo.
On Sunday, Columbus dominated at the net. with Izabella Rapacz leading the way. Rapacz paced the Fury with 15 kills and a kill percentage of 56%. Terry Raina added 10 kills. Setter Nootsara Tomkom recorded a team-high 25 assists, while libero Paula Cerame had eight digs.
The Fury are back in Columbus for a match Wednesday at Nationwide Arena against the Mojo. The action gets underway at 7:00 p.m. and can be seen on the Rock Entertainment Sports Network.
