Coming into Wednesday’s match with San Diego (8-15) at Nationwide Arena, the Columbus Fury (8-15) had lost all six matches to the Mojo over the past two seasons. The Fury put an end to San Diego’s streak with a four-set win – 25-22, 25-20, 22-25, and 25-18.
Columbus has now won three straight. On Wednesday, Izabella Rapacz paced the Fury with 15 kills. Captain Megan Lush added 12 and 12 digs. Setter Nootsara Tomkim recorded a game-high 37 assists and libero Paula Cerame led with 14 digs.
The Fury play their final home match Friday at Nationwide Arena. Their opponent will be the Orlando Valkyries (13-10). The Valkyries have won both matches that the teams have played so far this season. Friday’s contest can be seen on the Roku Channel.
After Friday, Columbus will travel to Omaha, Orlando, San Diego, and Las Vegas for the last four matches of the regular season.
