Senior shortstop Kami Kortokrax, a Bishop Hartley grad, hit three home runs and knocked in five for the Ohio State softballers (38-10-1) in their five-inning 15-5 win over the Ohio University Bobcats (31-13) Tuesday. Kortokrax now has 202 hits in her OSU career in what was her 206th consecutive game.

The Bobcats scored a run in the bottom of the first inning to take their only lead of the game. After that it was all Buckeyes. Besides Kortorkrax’s heroics, Reagan Milliken and Kaitlyn Farley also went deep. Milliken drove in five runs. She was also the last person to hit three homers in a game for Ohio State, just nine days ago at Penn State.

Layna Gerhard (7-0) started and picked up the win for Ohio State. The freshman remains undefeated this season. Kassandra Gewecke, also a freshman, tossed the final two innings in her 15th appearance this season. While she didn’t figure into the decision, Gewecke is 4-0 in her first campaign.

The Buckeyes return home for a weekend series against the Purdue Boilermakers, during which seniors Kortakrax, Farley, and Morgan Frye will be celebrated. The three-game set will be played as single games on Friday (6:00 p.m.), Saturday (2:00 p.m.), and Sunday (1:00 p.m.).
