On Thursday, the Ohio Dominican baseball squad came from behind with two runs in the ninth inning against Kentucky Wesleyan and walked off with a 7-6 win in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio.

The G-MAC tourney is a pool-play affair with two four-team brackets. The winners of the double-elimination brackets play a one game championship game on Sunday, May 11 at Prasco Park.

So far, #6-seed Ohio Dominican has defeated #3 Ashland 9-8 and #7 KYU today. The Panthers will play the winner of the losers’ bracket – either Ashland or Kentucky Wesleyan – on Friday. In order to be eliminated Friday, ODU would have to lose twice.

On the other side of the bracket, Tiffin and Findlay play Thursday to see who will be the undefeated team with a chance to play that side’s loser bracket winner and advance to the title game Sunday.

In Thursday’s game against Kentucky Wesleyan, the Panthers rallied twice to retake the lead. In the seventh inning, they scored two runs on a double from C.J. Dean, a Centennial alum, to go up by one.

After giving up two runs to KYU, also the Panthers, ODU responded with two runs in the ninth to win. Buckeye Valley grad Gianni Passarelli tripled to knock in a run, followed by a walk-off single from pinch-hitter Noah Schacht.
