Ohio Dominican beats Tiffin, Capital and OWU fall

Three CBUS-area college teams – Ohio Dominican, Capital, and Ohio Wesleyan – were in action Saturday, all playing at home.

Ohio Dominican 20, Tiffin 14
Ohio Dominican (2-0, 1-0) hosted Tiffin (1-2, 0-1) in a G-MAC contest Saturday at Panther Stadium. ODU had a 6-0 lead at the half thanks to two field goals from Henry Vakerics. Both teams scored two touchdowns in the second half, with the Panthers coming away with a 20-14 win. ODU’s Markquan Rucker had 112 yards rushing on 24 carries and a touchdown. Nathan Webster also scored a TD on the ground.

Baldwin Wallace 44, Capital 7
Capital (1-1, 0-1) hosted OAC foe Baldwin Wallace (3-0, 2-0) at Bernlohr Stadium in Bexley Saturday. The Yellow Jackets remained undefeated with a big 44-7 win, scoring 20 points in the third quarter to seal the victory. Quarterback Tyler Love, a Teays Valley alum, scored a touchdown and led the Comets in passing yards (75) and rushing yards (94).

Wittenberg 55, Ohio Wesleyan 17
Ohio Wesleyan (1-2, 0-1) welcomed Wittenberg (2-1, 1-0) to Selby Stadium in Delaware Saturday in an NCAC matchup. The Battling Bishops took a 3-0 lead on a 26-yard field goal from Ryan Elliott, a Big Walnut grad. After that, it was all Tigers. Wittenberg led at the half, 34-3, and went on to win, 55-17. Reddik Pillarelli and Granville alum Devon Haley scored touchdowns for OWU.
