The Ohio State baseball team (9-24) put together an offensive show Tuesday at Bill Davis Stadium, beating Wright State (21-14) in a non-conference game, 18-2, in seven innings. The Buckeyes posted 15 hits, including three home runs, on the evening.
Sophomore Lee Ellis, a South Carolina transfer, paced the Buckeyes with three hits, three runs batted in, and three runs scored. Sophomore Mason Eckelman doubled and drove in four runs. Senior Trey Lipsey, junior Tyler Pettorini, and senior Matt Graveline all went deep in the victory.
Grad Luke Carrell, an Oklahoma grad, went 1.1 innings of scoreless baseball in relief and picked up his first win of the season. Sophomore Zak Sigman, a Grove City alum, and junior Douglas Bauer blanked the Raiders for the final three innings.
The Buckeyes head to East Lansing for a weekend series with Michigan State Spartans. They’ll play single games on Friday (6:00 p.m.), Saturday (3:30 p.m.), and Sunday (1:00).
