The Ohio State women’s basketball team (4-1, 0-0) kicked off their appearance in the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship in the Bahamas Monday against the Belmont Bruins (3-3, 0-0). In a morning game, the Buckeyes beat the Nashville, Tenn. school by the final of 68-56.
The teams were tied after three quarters. Ohio State then outscored the Bruins 20-8 in the final frame to come away with the victory.
The Buckeyes were led by Jaloni Cambridge, who scored 26 points. Chance Gray posted 17 points, 15 of which came from outside the arc. Kylee Kitts had the first double-double of her career, recording 15 rebounds and 12 points. Kitts is a redshirt freshman from Ovieda, Fla.
The Bucks will finish up their stay in Nassau with a game against #21/22 West Virginia Wednesday. The tip-off at the Baha Mar Convention, Arts & Entertainment Center is slated for 1:30 p.m. and can be seen on Flo College.
