The Ohio State women’s hockey team (28-7-3) beat St. Lawrence, 6-1, Saturday at the OSU Ice Rink and will move on to the Frozen Four next weekend in Minneapolis. They’ll face Cornell on Friday at Ridder Arena with the opening puck drop at 5:00 p.m. EDT.

In Saturday’s game, the Buckeyes gave up the first goal of the contest just 6:26 into the first period. After that, it was all Ohio State as the Bucks recorded six straight scores against the Saints.

Sophomore Joy Dunne recorded two goals and two assists in the victory. Both grad McKenna Webster and sophomore Jocelyn Amos chipped in with a goal and an assist. Junior Sloane Matthews and freshman Jordyn Petrie added goals.

Grad goaltender Amanda Thiele had twelve saves to earn the win. Dunne leads the Buckeyes with 58 points, while Amos is tops with 27 goals. Thiele paces the OSU goalies with 19 wins.

The Cornell Big Red are 25-4-5 this season and earned their Frozen Four berth with a 1-0 win over the University of Minnesota-Duluth Saturday. The winner of the Ohio State/Cornell game will play for this year’s national championship against the winner of the Wisconsin/Minnesota game.
