The Otterbein volleyball team (24-5, 7-1) captured its fourth consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference tournament title Saturday with a 3-1 win at Marietta (17-8, 7-1). Marietta beat the Cardinals in their one regular season match.
On Saturday, Otterbein won the first two sets of the match – 25-14 and 25-23. After the Pioneers responded with a third set win – 25-19 – the Cardinals clinched the victory with a 25-18 fourth set.
Brooke Barb, a Johnstown grad, paced Otterbein with 14 kills, while Emerson Baum had four blocks. Setter Olivia Vitaz posted 37 assists and libero Ashley Kefauver, a Hamilton Township alum, had 23 digs. Kefauver also recorded three aces.
Otterbein has now qualified for the Division III NCAA tournament. The Cardinals will see where they will play a regional match during Monday’s NCAA selection show to be aired on NCAA.com at 1 p.m..
