In her third state final, Pickerington North senior Sofia Frangos, an Ohio State signee, found herself slipping down the leaderboard in the early going. Frangos rallied in her final three attempts and narrowly fell to Broadview Heights junior Rachel Kirin for the top spot on the Division I podium.
Central Ohio finished the day in DI with four more divers in the top ten: Big Walnut sophomore Sarah White (3), Olentangy sophomore Evelyn Fitz (4), Upper Arlington junior Madison Vermilion (5), and Olentangy Liberty junior Abby Foskey (9).
The top area diver in Division II competition was Columbus Academy senior Elle Vahedian, who finished in the fifth spot. Grandview Heights sophomore Maura Yates made it to the final round, placing 14th. Advancing to the semi-final round, Columbus Academy junior Delaney Woods finished in the 20th spot.
On Tuesday, Bexley sophomore Jackson Monus defended his Division II boys state championship, while Westerville South sophomore Andrew Keir was the top area finisher in Division I, placing third.
