The Ohio State women’s soccer team (8-2-6, 4-1-5) fell behind in the first half to the Maryland Terrapins (6-11-0, 2-8-0) in Landover Sunday. The Buckeyes roared back in the final 45 minutes with three goals, including two from leading scorer Amanda Schlueter, to win, 3-1.

Maryland’s Kelsey Smith put the Terps on the board in the 30th minute with a goal assisted by Lisa McIntyre.

After the halftime break, Ohio State’s Elle Britt took possession in the box after a Maryland blocked pass came right to her. The junior from Cincinnati quickly shot it over the goalkeeper’s right shoulder and into the net to even the score at 1-1.

The Buckeyes took the lead at the 81:19 mark when junior Amanda Schlueter chipped in a rebound at the right post.

Just 36 seconds later, the Union, Ky. native sealed the victory with her second goal of the match. Schlueter brought the ball down the left side of the pitch, stopped just inside the box, and kicked it into the top right corner of the net. She leads the Bucks with eight goals this season.

Ohio State is at Penn State next Sunday to take on the Nittany Lions (8-6-3, 4-2). The final regular season match for both squads kicks off at Jeffrey Field at 1:00 p.m. It can be seen on the Big Ten+ network.
