The Columbus Aviators have announced that three more players from their inaugural season – wide receiver Tay Martin (Detroit Lions), wide receiver Antwane Wells (Atlanta Falcons), and defensive end Jacoby Windman (Pittsburgh Steelers) – have signed with NFL teams this week.
That’s in addition to linebacker Tony Fields II, who inked a contract with the Chicago Bears on Monday.
All four players are among the first group of UFL players to sign NFL contracts as the UFL’s 2026 offseason signing period officially opened on June 15.
Martin led the Aviators during the 2026 UFL season with 42 receptions for 483 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His 42 catches ranked third in the UFL, while his 483 receiving yards ranked seventh in the league. Martin also contributed on special teams recording 4 tackles.
Prior to joining Columbus, Martin spent time on the practice squads of the San Francisco 49ers, Tennessee Titans, and Washington Commanders. Collegiately, he began his career at Washington State before transferring to Oklahoma State.
In nine games, Wells contributed in multiple ways for the Aviators during the 2026 UFL season, finishing third on the team in receptions (25) and receiving yards (237 yards). On special teams, he recorded 16 punt returns for 205 yards, averaging a league best 12.8 yards per return (min. 10 returns) with a long of 46 yards. He also added one tackle and one forced fumble on special teams coverage.
Prior to joining Columbus, Wells spent part of the 2025 NFL season on the New York Giants practice squad. Collegiately, he played at James Madison and South Carolina before finishing his college career at Ole Miss.
Windmon joined the Aviators on May 15 and appeared in the team’s final three games of the 2026 season. Despite limited games played, he finished third on the team in sacks with 3.5 while also adding eight tackles, two tackles for loss, and a forced fumble.
Prior to joining the Aviators, Windmon spent time with both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Carolina Panthers organizations during the 2024 NFL season. Originally signing with Pittsburgh as an undrafted free agent, he spent time on the Steelers practice squad before being signed to the Panthers active roster.
Windmon later had additional stints with both Pittsburgh and Carolina on their respective practice squads. Windmon began his collegiate career at UNLV before transferring to Michigan State for his final collegiate season.
In addition to the signings, Aviators defensive end Ron Stone Jr. recently had his second workout of the UFL offseason, this time with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Columbus Aviators retain the rights to those players who have signed with NFL clubs should they return to the UFL in the future.
