The Columbus Clippers rolled to their fourth straight win in their home series against Toledo Friday, topping the Mud Hens 9-4. The Clippers’ offense has scored exactly nine runs in each of their last three games and a total of 33 runs so far in the series. Here are our three takeaways from Friday’s onslaught:

1.    Daniel Schneemann kicked into high gear Friday, going 2-for-4 and driving in three runs with his first home run for the Clippers since rejoining the club from Cleveland a week ago. In his three games played in Columbus, his first time back with the Clippers since 2024, Schneemann is now hitting .375. He played in 83 games to start the season with the Guardians and was hitting .206 with six homers and 28 runs batted in.

2.   Columbus starting pitcher Yorman Gómez picked up his first win of the season, going 5.1 innings and allowing just one run on four hits and three walks, while striking out four. Gómez has now started seven games for the Clippers and is 1-2. In 31.0 innings pitched, he has struck out 36 hitters and has walked only 14. His ERA of 4.94 has primarily come from the seven home runs he has given up this season.

3.   It has been a long ball race for the team lead this week between Kody Huff and Cooper Ingle. Ingle hit a home run on Wednesday and another Thursday to put him atop the Clippers’ list with 16. Huff went deep Tuesday and Friday to match Ingle at the 16 mark. The most Ingle has knocked out in a previous season was 11 in 2024 with Lake County and Akron. For Huff, it was seven, also in 2024, with Akron.
